Caremerge staff volunteer at Friedman Place to teach residents how to engage socially with Amazon’s Alexa platform

11/27/18: Chicago, IL — It is incredibly hard to find a social activity when you are visually impaired, and your options are severely limited. We would like you to join Caremerge employees as they bring their experience in voice technology to a group of visually impaired Chicagoans at Friedman Place to show them how to play games on Amazon’s Alexa platform.

The supportive living industry has limited resources and rising expectations. As the aging population expands and faces health challenges, there’s a demand for more wellness enhancement services and products.

“It will be incredible for our company to experience first-hand how Caremerge is helping the visually impaired. After taking a tour of Friedman Place, I really took to heart the challenges they have on a daily basis. This is just a small gesture we all can do to help out others during the holiday season.”
Mike Hyzy, Senior Product Manager

Caremerge was one of the first to develop supportive living technology that focuses on compliance and resident engagement for supportive living communities. Friedman Place is a nonprofit Supportive Living Community for adults who are blind or visually impaired. Most of their residents have additional health challenges, that becomes more difficult to manage due to blindness.

Please join us at Friedman place on November 28th, 2018. 2:00-4:00pm for an educational session with the Director of Nursing and residents to learn more about Friedman Place, their residents, and how they use technology in the visually-impaired senior living space. At 3:00pm, we will be having music trivia with the Friedman Place residents, and at 4pm, we are providing a pizza dinner.
